In the continuity of his a black/white period, François began his most famous series of works also known as his “telephone book series” in which he divided the surface in the 40,000 squares, one of the most famous was acquired by MOMA New York in 2012, a larger red and blue canvas (100 x 100 cm) and two works are in the Collection Würth.
In the 60s and 70s, Morellet made around forty random and binary combinations, in his famous 80 x 80 cm format, each of these pieces being unique, with nuances of different tones.
