Overview
Stand 310

In 2025, we celebrate the 100th anniversary of Waldemar Cordeiro’s birth. To celebrate his legacy, The Mayor Gallery (London, UK), in collaboration with Luciana Brito Galeria (São Paulo, Brazil), presents the first retrospective of Waldemar Cordeiro in the United States at TEFAF New York 2025.

A seminal figure in postwar Latin American art, Cordeiro was both a pioneer of Concrete Art in Brazil and one of the earliest artists to embrace computer-generated art globally. This curated retrospective brings together key works from the 1950s through the 1970s, tracing Cordeiro’s evolution from the rational geometries of Grupo Ruptura to his visionary experiments with algorithm and image. Cordeiro helped define the visual language of the digital age – long before it arrived.
